Gatwick airport playing its part towards a more sustainable future reducing carbon emissions by 1,600 metric tonnes
Gatwick Airport installed iVolt units as part of a low voltage upgrade project that was completed in December 2012. The project consisted of two 800A/528 kVA units installed on C1 and C2 sections of the South Terminal. The C1 and C2 sections had an annual energy consumption of 3,597,000 kWh. iVolt units that lower a building’s incoming power supply to the most efficient level, reducing power consumption, electricity bills, and carbon emissions by up to 20%.

Having set themselves an ambitious target to reduce CO2 emissions by 250 metric tonnes over 3 years (2015-2018) as well as reducing their utility costs by up to 10% over the same period, Edinburgh College surpassed this goal in the first year following the installation of iVolt’s unique technology. With only the Sighthill Campus selected for IRT, the college saved more than 642,00 kg of CO2 and over £63,000.
Morrisons, in partnership with iVolt systems reduce their carbon footprint by over 1,800 tonnes and reduce energy costs
Installation of iVolt’s dynamic voltage optimisation systems at Morrisons’ stores produced remarkable results. Morrisons has achieved a reduction in their carbon footprint by over 1,800 tons, which is equivalent to taking more than 380 cars off the road for a year. Additionally, they achieved an average energy cost saving of nearly 5% across their trial stores.

In 2014, Tesco faced a significant challenge of reducing energy consumption and costs in their UK stores while ensuring they maintained the same level of service quality for their customers. The challenge was especially daunting because Tesco is one of the world’s largest retailers, with a vast network of stores and a large energy consumption rate.
Since the installation of iVolt, Tesco has successfully reduced their energy consumption (up to 9.43%) and costs significantly while maintaining the quality of service provided to their customers. This reduction in energy consumption has also led to a reduction in CO2 emissions.
