PLC shows statement of intent to sustainability with  iVolt installation

 

The Presbyterian Ladies’ College in Sydney is a highly regarded educational establishment that has been providing exceptional education to young women since 1888. As part of its commitment to sustainability, the college has implemented various initiatives aimed at reducing its carbon footprint and improving its energy efficiency. One of these initiatives was the installation of a solar power system, which was intended to offset the college’s energy costs.

However, the system was not functioning optimally due to voltage fluctuations and surges that were affecting the performance of the equipment and reducing the savings potential of the solar installation. To resolve this issue, the college turned to iVolt, an intelligent and dynamic voltage optimiser.

iVolt is designed with independently controlled auto-transformers and a programmable micro controller system that responds quickly to voltage variations, ensuring a stable output voltage of 220V (+/-1.5%) at all times. The micro-controller also measures the relevant frequency of the mains supply and works automatically over a wide frequency range, making iVolt highly adaptable. This dynamic design allows iVolt to optimise the power supply and reduce energy waste, making it an attractive solution for organisations looking to improve their sustain
